Job Title: Associate, Production Planning

Job Description:

This person will contribute to the company's success by interfacing with multiple departments and organizations and is primarily responsible for ensuring project deliverables are completed on schedule.

  • Performs planning and scheduling functions involved with coordinating products and materials through various production phases.
  • Implements planned production schedules, labor loading and capacity requirements.
  • Reviews schedules to determine materials and parts requirements to ensure materials are available according to schedules.
  • Collects and analyzes data and prepares reports including recommendations to meet internal and external demands for materials and finished goods.
  • Expedite flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules.
  • Analyze parts availability, coordinate with Supply Chain to expedite parts required to release Manufacturing Orders.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering to keep up to date Lead Time, lot size and estimated labor and set up Hrs. of finished goods.
  • Track flow of production ops to ensure on time completion, Expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules.
  • By using MRP system, create, schedule, adjust and release manufacturing orders of multi levels products.

Essential Functions:

  • Communicate, Coordinate, and Negotiate workflow through multiple work centers via various functional organizations to secure needed resources while ensuring changing customer demands, and schedule deadlines are met.
  • Expedite flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules.
  • Monitor order status, including material status, managing WIP areas, location accuracy, inventory discrepancies, manufacturing and program support, and communication support.
  • Ensure availability of materials to meet production requirements and delivery commitments. Assists with resolving material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions.
  • Ensure all MRP planning data is maintained on a regular basis (i.e. lead-times, lot sizes, inventory transfers, and policy codes). Perform accurate and complete maintenance transactions into the MRP system for all purchasing and planning transactions. Plan, coordinate, and expedite detailed part schedules in compliance with the Master Schedule requirements or as otherwise directed. 
  • Effectively communicate detailed schedule development to stakeholders, department leads, production management, and executive management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, there is a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience required.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience in a manufacturing, production, or other highly schedule-based environment.
  • Established analytical skills, focused on the ability to identify and assist with creating solutions to complex problems.
  • Analyze material configuration and job order status using Windows-based computer systems and software.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint), PowerBI, and Visio.
