Job description

Summary:
The Production Associate is responsible for manufacturing product utilizing primary and secondary processing equipment or hand assembly. Following all procedures and work instructions, achieve optimal productivity, quality, and safety assuring internal and external customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
  • Operate molding press/equipment per company procedures
  • Perform any assembly required either manually or utilizing specialized equipment.

Process Management:
  • Review "Operator Display/Job Board" prior to running production for work instructions and Quality Alerts
  • De-gate parts, as required at molding machine using specified equipment.
  • Package parts into required containers (i.e., corrugated boxes, returnables)

Quality Control:
  • Assure Product meets established quality criteria of zero non-conformances
  • Daily review of all applicable quality alerts
  • Correct application of all internal and external labels when required, including removal of all old labels from returnable packaging
  • Immediate notification to Supervisor of all discrepancies to established quality checks (i.e. Sample boards, inspection instructions, SPC etc.)

Documentation and Communication:
  • Correctly record scarp every hour per work instructions
  • Correct application of lot control numbers
  • Ensure that all non-conforming product is placed in a red bin for disposition or disposal.
  • Perform sorting and EPC (Early Product Containment) tasks as required with the completion of proper documentation.
  • Communicate production and quality issues/concerns with associates during communication/shift meetings
  • Participate in team problem solving activities (i.e. 8D's, communication/shift meetings, etc.)

Housekeeping:
  • Keep work area clean and organized
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping in respective areas.

Safety:
  • Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures

Additional Duties:
  • Any other duties assigned by the reporting Supervisor and/or Manager

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations with American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
