Job description

1 REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Reports to the Production Supervisor.
2 PURPOSE
2.1 Function
2.1.1 Supports production associates in the delivery of plant objectives in safety, quality, cost, delivery and morale;
2.1.2 Ensures 5S standards are maintained and that abnormal situations are handled properly;
2.1.3 Ensures documentation is completed, and Rules of Manufacturing and Standard Work are followed.
2.2 Authority
2.2.1 Lead B-Operators and Production Associates in work group.
2.2.2 Reports issues to Supervisor and makes suggestions for improvements.
3 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 Ensures 5S standards are maintained and make suggestions on how to improve;
3.2 Ensures each abnormal situation is properly controlled / handled;
3.3 Completion of hourly tracking and OEE;
3.4 Ensure all documentation is completed on a daily basis (scrap, PM, Poke Yoke, etc.);
3.5 Ensures all Rules of Manufacturing are followed;
3.6 Identifies and assist in improving safety concerns;
3.7 Completes required off line inspection for the line;
3.8 Lead teardown associate;
3.9 Assist Supervisor with other duties as needed.
4 MEASUREMENTS/COMPETENCIES
4.1 Accomplishment of set goals, including documentation, organization, and timeliness;
4.2 Safety incidents and occurrences by Department;
4.3 Quality Metrics (Scrap, DPPM, Teardown);
4.4 5S;
4.5 Ability to identify / suggest improvement activities.
5 SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
6 WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. May occasionally work in hot or cold temperatures. May occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.
7 QUALIFICATIONS
7.1 High School Diploma or equivalent.
7.2 Preferred one year of employment at Douglas prior to appointment;
7.3 Good attendance and work;
7.4 Experienced in problem solving and reporting (i.e., 8-D, PR/R, QR, etc.);
7.5 Computer literate;
7.6 Good communication skills, both oral and written;
7.7 Team player;
7.8 Self-motivated;
7.9 Willing to travel.
8 PHYSICAL DEMANDS
8.1 Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.
8.2 Must be able to lift up to 32 pounds at a time.
8.3 Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.
8.4 Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
8.5 Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
8.6 Must wear gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes, and ear protection, per the Elemental Operations Instructions Safety Points.
9 POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. This position regularly requires extended hours and possible weekend work.
10 TRAVEL
Travel may be required.
