Production Associate

Job Description
This role supports a high-volume production environment by operating filling equipment, handling materials, and packaging liquid and powdered products according to customer specifications. You will work on the 2nd or 3rd shift in a fast-paced, loud, and sometimes dirty production area, ensuring accurate filling, labeling, and documentation while following established procedures and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate filling equipment in the MTA Liquids area to load, unload, and process products coming off the production line.
- Handle products ranging from approximately 5 lbs to 50 lbs, including lifting, moving, and positioning containers safely.
- Fill finished products and raw materials into customer-specified containers such as gallon jugs, small drums, and small containers.
- Work from batch sheets to accurately fill orders for various customers, ensuring correct quantities and formulations.
- Use basic measurement tools and mathematical skills to verify volumes, weights, and counts during production.
- Perform data entry in the DOSS computer system to record production updates and equipment status information.
- Label, count, pack, and prepare products for shipping, ensuring packaging meets quality and customer requirements.
- Collaborate closely with production workers, supervisors, and team leads to meet production goals and timelines.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards while operating machines, mixing batches, and packing products.
- Support batch mixing activities as needed, following work orders and production instructions.
- Operate stand-up reach trucks to move product and materials within the warehouse and production areas, when required.
- Assist with moving product from the packaging department to the warehouse and preparing it for shipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, contributing to a safe and efficient production environment.
- Perform additional duties within the production area as assigned by shift supervisors or team leads.
Essential Skills
- Previous batch mixing experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Machine operating experience within a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment.
- Packing experience in a GMP environment.
- Stand-up reach truck experience with at least 6+ months of hands-on use.
- Ability to work effectively in a loud, fast-paced, and sometimes dirty production environment.
- Ability to lift and handle products ranging from approximately 5 lbs to 50 lbs safely and consistently.
- Basic measurement and mathematical skills to support accurate filling and counting.
- Ability to work with a computer, including data entry and use of production systems such as DOSS.
- Good work tenure, with a history of staying more than 1+ year in prior positions.
- High School Diploma or GED required for permanent employment.

- Experience working with work orders and batch sheets in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in food manufacturing or environments with strong odors is beneficial.
- Comfort working under supervision while also taking initiative to support team goals.
- Willingness to learn warehouse procedures and cross-train on various equipment.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate labeling, packing, and documentation.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent production operations.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing and distribution facility that produces various liquid and powdered chemicals for the food industry, with products used in well-known food and beverage brands. The production floor has a strong odor, typical of a food-related manufacturing environment, and can be loud, fast-paced, and sometimes dirty. The warehouse area has less odor but remains an active industrial setting. Each shift typically includes a team of approximately 10–15 employees in the warehouse, while one warehouse department operates with a smaller group of about three people supported by supervisors and team leads. The position is available on 2nd shift (Monday–Friday, 2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.) and 3rd shift (Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.). Team members use equipment such as stand-up reach trucks and work with computer systems like DOSS for data entry and production tracking. All employees must follow strict hygiene and safety protocols, including wearing hair nets, gloves, and beard nets if applicable. The environment emphasizes high responsibility for moving product from packaging to shipping, with structured training provided on warehouse procedures and equipment, offering a clear pathway to increased responsibility and advancement.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
