Job Title: Harvest Assistant – 1st & 2nd Shift$19-22/HR
Job Description
The Harvest Assistant on supports production operations by manually sorting corn in a cleanroom environment, removing defective material, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. This role plays a key part in ensuring product quality and efficient reclaim and packaging processes.
Responsibilities
- Manually sort corn to remove rogue ears, stalks, husk, trash, and other non-conforming material.
- Separate and discard unsuitable product into designated chutes in accordance with production guidelines.
- Place acceptable corn ears onto the reclaim conveyor for rework and further processing.
- Support general production activities, including basic packaging and packing tasks as needed.
- Perform general labor duties to assist with overall harvest and production operations.
- Sweep and clean the work area at the end of the shift to maintain a safe, organized, and sanitary environment.
- Follow cleanroom procedures and standards while handling and sorting product.
- Adhere to all safety and quality policies throughout the shift.
Essential Skills
- Experience with manual sorting tasks in a production or cleanroom environment.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as sorting, discarding, and sweeping for the duration of the shift.
- General production experience, including basic packaging and packing activities.
- Capability to work on a conveyor line and handle product efficiently and accurately.
- Strong attention to detail to identify and remove defective or foreign material.
- Reliability in following instructions and adhering to established processes and safety guidelines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience in general labor roles within manufacturing or agricultural operations.
- Comfort working in a cleanroom setting with established cleanliness and sanitation protocols.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a production team.
- Willingness to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and light lifting throughout the shift.
