Job description

The primary purpose of a production associate is being responsible for cleaning designated production areas of lumber, bark, and sawdust using a variety of hand and mechanical tools/equipment assuring smooth and efficient machinery operation as well as providing a safe workplace.
Responsibilities:    
  • Commitment to working safely and following safety rules/procedures, and environmental guidelines.  
  • Cross-train on production equipment.
  • Load or unload materials and products from machines. 
  • Monitor machines to ensure continued movement of lumber and materials throughout the mill. 
  • Perform cleanup activities throughout the mill. 
  • Use an assortment of hand tools to complete daily clean-up duties such as air hoses, shovels, brooms, blower, wheel barrel, etc. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.  
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma/GED preferred.  
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. 
  • Ability to operate equipment safely and responsibly. 
  • Ability to understand, clearly communicate, and follow all safety rules and policies. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team. 
  • Observes all safety requirements, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). 
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient production. 
  • Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.  
Physical Requirements:   
  • Perform tasks such as walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, grasping and standing for up to 12 hours per day. 
  • Able to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs.
  • Able to work in extreme temperatures and dusty and noisy conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the work shift.
