Job description

InterSystems HealthShare seeks a strong product leader to help create the next generation of clinical and claims data analytics solutions for some of healthcare's most important quality, cost, and population health challenges.
InterSystems HealthShare is the premier health interoperability and innovation platform, providing unique solutions for today's widely distributed healthcare in which a single patient may connect to many providers at many locations using many different information systems. We combine and unify data from thousands of sources including all major electronic health records, social determinants, claims processors, public health, IoT devices, patient self-care and outcomes measures, and many more onto a flexible and powerful data platform. We transform, summarize, analyze, and communicate that information in many ways to address key clinical, strategic and operational problems. HealthShare provides a wide variety of clinical and operational solutions to a rapidly growing list of customers in the US and internationally, including providers, public health systems, state and national health organizations, health information exchanges, and development partners. Within the HealthShare portfolio, InterSystems Health Insight is the analytics companion to the HealthShare Unified Care Record - a curated, patient-level healthcare data model purpose-built for analytics that combines clinical and claims data to power population health management, care gap and quality measure notifications, pre-built dashboards and reporting, and in-depth retrospective analysis for clinical, business, and population health use cases.
The HealthShare team is looking for an experienced Product Manager with deep roots in healthcare clinical and claims data analytics. As a member of our team, this position will own the roadmap and strategy for InterSystems Health Insight, including governance over the clinical and claims data models that power population health management, quality measures, and care management use cases within our products. The product manager will also act as the scrum product owner for one development team.
Responsibilities:
  • Own the strategic direction, feature design, and roadmap for InterSystems Health Insight, including its data model, dashboards, and quality/population health use case packages
  • Serve as product owner on an Agile development team, working with software development, implementation, testing, support, sales, and field engineering team members to bring new analytics features and use cases to successful release
  • Communicate with current and potential customers - including health systems, payers, and HIEs - to understand their clinical, claims, and operational analytics needs, translate those into product requirements, and help customers get the greatest value from Health Insight
  • Represent the "voice of the customer" internally in guiding the design and development of clinical and claims analytics capabilities, dashboards, and notifications
  • Collaborate on overall HealthShare product strategy, roadmap, and cohesiveness with colleagues on the Product Management team possessing a range of health and technology expertise
  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert in healthcare data analytics, including models, population health management, and quality measurement
  • Understand and advise internal and external audiences on relevant industry trends, including value-based care, quality measure programs (e.g., HEDIS, Star Ratings), risk adjustment, regulatory requirements, and changes in practice
  • Participate in studies of the impact of Health Insight and HealthShare solutions on clinical quality, cost, safety, and operational efficiency
  • Participate in the professional community, including attendance at national and international healthcare analytics and interoperability conferences

The ideal candidate will bring the following:
  • 5-10 years of product management experience, ideally with healthcare data or analytics products
  • Experience working with application or data model design at an in-depth level, in industry or with a healthcare organization
  • Demonstrated success in helping envision, design and bring healthcare data or analytics products to completion
  • Experience working with customers or stakeholders to understand and refine product needs at all stages of product development
  • Experience with healthcare clinical and claims data analytics, including population health management, quality measurement, risk adjustment, care gap identification, and value-based care programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience presenting to both technical and business-oriented audiences.
  • Ability to work successfully in both team and individual settings, with limited supervision.
  • Experience with clinical and claims data models and standards, such as HL7, CDA, FHIR, X12 (837/835/834), OMOP, and OpenEHR; familiarity with SQL, BI/reporting tools, and healthcare quality measure frameworks (e.g., HEDIS, CQM, Star Ratings) is a strong plus.

Education:
  • BS in health, technical, or business area or comparable experience required.
  • MBA, MPH, MHA, or similar degree preferred.
