Job Tittle:    Business System Analyst - Enterprise Payments
Location:         Seattle, WA
Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Payments Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support retail and digital payment initiatives, working closely with product, engineering, QA, and external vendors. This role will focus on requirements definition, payment gateway integrations, POS/PED flows, and supporting delivery and production activities across transaction-based systems.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience in the end-to-end payment’s lifecycle, understands complex payment integrations, and can comfortably bridge business and technical teams in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.

Key Responsibilities
Business & Systems Analysis
  • Elicit, analyse, and document business and system requirements for payments and transaction-based platforms, ensuring clarity and traceability.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and data mappings.
  • Partner closely with engineering teams to interpret APIs, data schemas, and payment flow diagrams.
  • Support solution design discussions and validate that proposed technical solutions meet business and compliance requirements.
Delivery & Testing Support
  • Work within Agile or hybrid delivery models, participating in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release readiness.
  • Actively support QA and UAT activities, including test case reviews, defect triage, and stakeholder sign‑off.
  • Coordinate with product owners, developers, QA teams, and vendors to ensure aligned delivery.
 
Payments Domain & Integration
  • Contribute to initiatives across the end‑to‑end payments lifecycle, including authorization, settlement, refunds, reconciliation, and chargebacks.
  • Support integrations between retail and digital channels and payment gateways/processors.
  • Participate in projects involving POS and PED integrations, helping define flows and supporting issue resolution.
  • Engage with payment gateway providers, processors, and third‑party vendors as needed.
Production & Compliance
  • Participate in production support activities, including incident analysis and root cause assessments for retail and digital payment channels.
  • Support PCI compliance‑related activities, including documentation, audits, and control alignment.
 
Required Experience & Skills
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, ideally within Payments, Retail, or Digital Commerce domains.
  • Hands-on experience working with payment platforms, gateways, processors, or fraud solutions.
  • Strong understanding of the overall payment’s lifecycle.
  • Experience delivering in Agile or hybrid delivery models with cross‑functional teams.
  • Proven ability to work with technical artifacts such as APIs, data models, and integration flows.
  • Experience supporting QA/UAT efforts and working through production issues.
  • Familiarity with POS and PED integration is strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to PCI compliance concepts and activities is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including Product, Engineering, QA, and Vendors.
