Description

In your role, you assist with the daily operation of the school, specifically in the areas of attendance, behavioral, and disciplinary prevention and intervention services. This position serves as a resource for instructional and systemic equity at the high school level.

As our Student Success Coach, you will work in step with our Assistant School Leader, and instructional team to fulfill our school-wide vision

areas of responsibility include (but aren't limited to)

  • Assist in the implementation of policies, regulation guidelines, and procedures pertaining to student behavior and attendance.
  • Assist in maintaining discipline throughout the student body 
  • Address bus behavior referrals and maintains appropriate documentation
  • Assist teachers with behavior management plans and strategies
  • Monitors progress of students with check-ins, scheduled meetings or proactive outreach and communication, responding to students' questions, concerns and needs
  • Conducts academic coaching through individual or group sessions that help students assess their own performance and develop academic success plans.
  • Assists students in developing self-efficacy by identifying and overcoming obstacles that may be impeding academic success 
  • Helps students in identifying, developing and implementing learning strategies and study skills specific to course materials
  • Refers students to appropriate academic personnel and support resources and collaborates with other to monitor and accelerate the academic progress of the students referred
  • Work with student services staff in providing guidance and motivation for success and in collaboratively developing plans for students who struggle.
  • Serve as emergency substitute teacher when need arises
  • Perform such record-keeping functions including entry of behavior events in the student information system, and producing and sending documentation related to behavior events to families as required by policy
  • Participate in professional growth to improve skills related to the job assignment
  • Perform supervision of students during unstructured times such as before and after school, during passing times and during lunch periods. As a member of school administrative team, assist with supervision of special events
  • Make recommendations concerning the revision and updating of student code of conduct rules, regulations, and handbooks.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the Principal

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (required)
  • Master's degree in a relevant field (preferred)
  • 3+ years in a similar professional setting
  • Training on equity, diversity and culturally responsive pedagogy, as well as a willingness to extend his or her professional development in these areas preferred.
