Job description

Under supervision, the Assistant Director is responsible for overseeing the review and compliance of life and health insurance filings, ensuring regulatory adherence, and supporting legislative and operational initiatives. This position supervises the Form and Rate Analyst (Life and Health) role.

Analyze legislation for impact on insurers and consumers, draft proposals, regulations, bulletins, and departmental guidelines.

Analyze market trends, develop product enhancements, setting rate strategies, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Evaluate and oversee the performance of subordinate staff.

Work closely with Actuarial team to align product strategies with organizational goals.

Conduct detailed analysis on product performance metrics, loss trends, rate adequacy, and market positioning to inform recommendations.

Ensure all products and rate filings comply with state regulations.

Draft and revise product specifications, policy forms, endorsements, and guidelines as needed.

Monitor state and federal regulatory changes affecting L&H products; support timely implementation of updates across systems and documentation.

Participate in the development and execution of product strategies, including new product concepts, enhancements, filings, and market expansions.

Support quality assurance activities related to product implementation and system configuration.

Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership to communicate product performance risks, and strategic recommendations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

This is a hybrid position, requiring two remote workdays and three onsite workdays each week. All employees are expected to be on site every Wednesday.

Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of management experience in the area of assignment OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Three years management experience in the area of assignment OR Seven years of experience in the area of assignment, Three years of which in a management role OR One year of experience required at the lower level Mgr 2, Regulatory Compliance (RCM051) or position equivalent.
