Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: Weather Underground is the world's first weather site on the Internet.  Our mission is to make global weather data universally accessible, meaningful, and useful.   Come help save lives and join our cause!  We're looking for a passionate Mobile Product Manager to join us in our San Francisco office.  The Product Manager is chief imagineer and will be responsible for creating new and engaging customer experiences with the next generation of native mobile apps. He/She will collaborate with developers, UX designers, and marketing teams during the design and development process to bring apps to life. The Product Manager is expected to innovate on the customer's behalf, understand core product management principles, and be agile.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.     Own the product, Wow our customers.

o   Identify customers and create end to end customer experiences.

o   Create a product vision and paths to get there.

o   Answer the What and Why of the user stories and product investments; back up claims with quantitative and qualitative data as available.

o   Own and groom the product backlog.

o   Be accountable for the performance of the product with analytics.

o   Proactively research and understand how our audience interacts with our products and make use of this knowledge in the development of best possible user experiences.

2.     Enable the Development Team.

o   Run ahead of development to create and validate user stories and acceptance criteria.

o   Prioritize and establish the minimum viable product for each iteration.

o   Create wireframes and mock-ups and work with UX/UI designers to finalize the composition.

o   Ensure all the user stories and UX/UI designs are locked and loaded for sprint planning.

o   Support the scrum master and development team to realize the product as you envisioned it.

3.     Maintain Mobile Products.

o   Create and execute support model for apps.

o   Take customer and stakeholder feedback to iterate on.

4.     Innovate Mobile Designs, Business Models and Technologies.

o   Create and research mobile design ideas and technologies and determine if they should be used in Wunderground products.

     o   Ability to prioritize, lead and influence key product decisions.
     o   Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and successfully launch products; collaborative.

    2.     Experience
     o   3+ years of product management experience.
     o   Must have designed or built a mobile app.
     o   Preferred educational level: Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
     o   Agile Scrum experience is a plus.
     o   MBA not required, but a plus.
