Position Summary

The Builder Apprentice learns the systemized five-phase build process, under the guidance of an experienced builder.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Delivers quality and value through the daily management of the construction process
  • Attends daily production meetings and memorizes the construction schedule
  • Confirms each home site is clean at every stage, every home, with every trade
  • Schedules and directs trade partners utilizing the company HB1 software
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with trade partners, vendors, and city officials
  • Completes thorough inspections throughout the build phase to maintain high company construction standards and meet city codes
  • Communicates with manager regarding the build progress
  • Creates a personal organizational system for efficiency and quick response times
  • Inspects all work completed by trade partners for quality work prior to payment approval
  • Completes training program within three (3) months

Qualifications and Skills

  • Construction experience preferred but not required
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Ability to learn new software and utilize company HB1 system
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to drive a company vehicle

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Works outdoors in a non-temperature-controlled environment, with medium to high noise levels
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit in a vehicle
  • Occasionally required to climb, lift, pull, and push objects up to 70 pounds
