SUMMARY:
The Product Line Specialist, Sure-Seal Connections (SSC) leads the strategic and operational activities of their assigned product line. This entails delivering improved ROI and profitability while promoting products and services, inclusive of product planning and product marketing. Along with Sure-Seal products, this employee will strategize, execute, and lead electromechanical product portfolio from our sister company Test-Co.
The Product Line Specialist will be leading the efforts of pricing efficiencies within Redistribution and will improve both internal and external customer service.
The Product Line Specialist will execute the product vision, manage the product lifecycle, prioritize product and customer requirements, develop inventory strategy, and works closely with our Sales, Engineering, and Marketing departments. The ideal candidate attains expert knowledge of their assigned product line, end-markets, the applications products are used in, and the pricing and capabilities of rivals.
We are looking for a self-starter who is entrepreneurial. The role reports to the Manager, Sure-Seal Connections and is offered at our Philadelphia, PA or Chicago, Illinois company locations where PEI sponsors a hybrid work environment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • 1-3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in sales, marketing, product management, or supply chain management.
  • Knowledge in the industrial interconnect markets and products preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment or company preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a product portfolio profitably.

ESSENTIAL TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for managing and growing their product line sales globally by owning all key areas of the sales process - Quoting, Pricing, Margins, Forecasting, Communication, Inventory Strategy, Operational Performance/Service and Marketing Strategy
  • Analyze, develop, and maintain customer specific pricing levels to maximize margins, hit sales targets, and grow assigned product lines market penetration
  • Work closely with the subcontractors, Sales and Purchasing to monitor and adjust inventory profiles as needed to ensure desired inventory turns and service levels
  • Responsible for Product Launch and development of collaborative sales material content. Coordinate and develop/lead field sales trainings and promotions - product specific trainings, market information, customer leads, and sales promotions
  • Identify areas to grow market share by targeting specific customers, capabilities and product lines they are not currently serviced in the market
  • Monitor daily and monthly sales and activity reports to ensure sales, margin, and profitability targets are met or exceeded
  • Address and coordinate resolution of operational issues and opportunities regarding new product initiatives
TECHNICAL & MANAGERIAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience and knowledgeable of interconnect products or other electronic components preferred
  • Ability to quickly learn products, processes, and technically complex systems
  • The candidate must be a strategic planner and tenacious executor
  • Experience planning, buying, pricing or selling products with Bills of Materials
  • Experience with a legacy ERP/MRP application
  • Experience in marketing and developing marketing materials and training preferred
  • Organization & Task Management skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Customer-centric mindset
