JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION:

Software Development Intern

SALARY GRADE:

DEPARTMENT: Products, Technology, Digitalization

FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt

SUPERVISOR: Supervisor Pump Design

SUMMARY:

The Software Development Intern will support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of engineering tools, including internally used product development tools, broader companywide design tools, and tools specific to bespoke testing and data requirements. This role provides handson experience working with real business systems that directly support engineering teams, enabling design, configuration, data visibility, data analysis, and workflow efficiency. The intern position will collaborate with design engineers, mechanical integrity analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable, userfriendly solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Training will be given to accomplish the following:

  • Assist with implementing enhancements, bug fixes, and minor feature updates based on business requirements and user feedback.

  • Collaborate with Product Development and other engineering departments, Commercial Excellence, and IT stakeholders to understand tool usage and functional needs.

  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and validation of tools to ensure quality and reliability.

  • Help document technical designs, workflows, and user instructions for supported tools.

  • Analyze issues reported by users and assist in troubleshooting and resolution.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Adheres to company and department policies, procedures, and standards

Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide EHS Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures. Supports and cooperates in company-wide Quality Management effort.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Programming experience in one or more languages (e.g., C#, C++, Java, Python, or similar).
  • Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, REST APIs) or application development concepts.
  • Understanding of databases and data concepts (SQL, relational data structures).
  • Detailoriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
