Technical Manager – Liquid Ink Division
Lead Innovation. Drive Technical Excellence. Make an Impact.
We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead the technical operations of our customer’s Liquid Ink Division. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on technical leader with expertise in liquid ink systems and the flexible packaging industry to play a key role in product development, customer support, team leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives.
In this role, you will oversee technical service and application development while partnering with customers, suppliers, sales, and internal teams to deliver innovative solutions that drive customer satisfaction and business growth.
Responsibilities
  • Leading the technical development and day-to-day activities of the Liquid Ink Division.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving ink-related technical issues.
  • Partnering with the Sales team to support existing customers and secure new business opportunities.
  • Developing and expanding technical service capabilities to support growth in the U.S. flexible packaging market.
  • Leading application development and recommending product improvements to enhance performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Driving continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives across products and processes.
  • Managing departmental budgets, controlling expenses, and minimizing overtime.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve equipment, facilities, and manufacturing processes.
  • Hiring, mentoring, coaching, and developing technical staff to build a high-performing team.
  • Conducting performance reviews, setting goals, and providing ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Addressing employee relations matters and fostering a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Ensuring company policies, procedures, and objectives are effectively implemented.
  • Preparing and presenting monthly departmental reports to the General Manager.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (required).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Liquid Ink Technician or in a progressively responsible technical role within the liquid ink industry.
  • Strong knowledge of liquid ink systems, raw materials, and applications used in the flexible packaging industry.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience in a hands-on technical environment.
  • Experience providing technical service and support to flexible packaging customers.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build lasting customer relationships.
