Position Summary:
Provide comprehensive maintenance support for manufacturing machinery, while developing or deepening existing skills in an ever-growing field in machine maintenance and automation.
You will also be tasked to maintain upkeep on general building maintenance, changing lights, fixing amenities, and light appliances.
This role is best suitable for a self-driven, open-minded, and problem-solving person. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in thinking in systems, wanting to know the why and how things work and have a can-do spirit in how they approach problems, and are comfortable in reaching out for help when needed. Mechanical aptitude is a must in this field of work as you will be the go-to person when issues arise.
This role is crucial in supporting various manufacturing processes to keep downtime to a minimum and being a positive help to the operators when needed.
Essential Responsibilities and Developmental Qualities:
  • Must exhibit the core values of Lake Country Manufacturing (Learning, Trust, Family, Teamwork, Entrepreneurial Spirit)
  • Self-driven and proficient Machine Technician with an aptitude to learn and grow in their role.
  • Install, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment through preventive maintenance and root cause analysis.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical failures and provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during production, along with scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service.
  • Comfortability dismantling machinery, remove/replace defective parts, replace fluids, oils, air filters, high pressure hoses, air lines, mechanical and electrical sensors, and motors.
  • Learn the process of all machines and how they work, being able to help determine a setup issue vs an actual mechanical issue. (Risk analysis)
  • Work on general building upkeep - Replacing light fixtures, basic plumbing (changing water filters and fixing amenities), repairing indoor and outdoor fixtures.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Awareness for and proactive communication about machinery and processes and supplies to ensure continuity of production.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in priority.
  • Work with Lean Development Supervisor on performance metrics, goals, and employee reviews.
  • Ability to follow all manufacturing procedures and safety measures for everyone's safety.
  • Understand the importance of LOTO. (Lock Out Tag Out)
  • Log all maintenance or changes to the machines. Date, Parts, Purchase Orders, Procedures, Downtime, Service Calls.
Qualifications:
  • Strong track record of mechanical abilities. EX.) production machines, cars, tools, electrical, carpentry, fabrication, heavy machinery, light machinery, computers.
  • Able to create and record all dealings with the equipment, organizational skills, note taking skills.
  • MUST, be able to read operations manuals for equipment, and understand troubleshooting, risk assessment and management, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience using an ERP system; Shop Track and Syteline a plus.
  • Must be highly motivated, a strong willingness to learn and find solutions.
  • Able to telecommunicate with other tech services and execute services over the phone.
  • Communication skills in explaining issues, and potential root causes.
  • Forklift certified preferred
