Engineering Manager - New Product Development & Projects
We are looking for an Engineering Manager - New Product Development & Projects. Reporting to the Sea-Doo Vehicle Development Director, you will be responsible for managing the development of jet propulsion units and managing the support for BRP`s customers in the integration of the jet propulsion system to their vessel. In this role, you will have a major impact at leveraging our Sea-Doo jet propulsion systems in an efficient way and making sure they fulfill the needs of their application.

YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
  • Lead all activities related to the definition, development, and validation of your projects alongside your team of engineers and technicians as well as other sectors of the business such as production, sourcing and quality, both on site (Florida, USA), in Valcourt, Qc Canada, in Austria as well as Mexico.
  • Directly reporting to this position are the engineers, technicians and mechanics who are part of the JPS team developing the new systems and components.
  • Define the direction of future products in collaboration with the design, product strategy, accessories, global procurement, operations, powertrain, finance, and other teams,
  • Develop products based on these directions by leveraging the advanced knowledge and technologies integrated into our R&D environment,
  • Validate results to see them through to production and into the hands of our partners, OEM and distributors.
  • Present projects to executive committees, plan and manage operating and capital budgets, as well as the overall development schedule.
  • Support the integration of the JPS into new OEM vessels, maintain a proficient relationship with our main customers.
  • Have an overview of the P&L and make recommendations to maintain and improve the profitability of the business unit. Take ownership of the business unit's success and profitability mutually with the product strategy manager.
  • As one of the managers on site, get involved in site management in terms of H&S and the day-to-day operations

YOU WILL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of management and/or leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in New Product Development (NPD).
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Proficiency in French and/or Spanish is considered an asset, as the role involves collaboration with colleagues and partners across different countries.
  • Strong understanding of how comparable products and systems function within recreational, automotive, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and align team members at all levels while fostering adherence to BRP's Code of Ethics and high standards of business conduct.
  • Creative mindset with a strong capacity for innovation and problem-solving.
  • Comfortable making difficult decisions in a timely and effective manner.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and responsibility.
  • Self-motivated, autonomous, and capable of working effectively with minimal supervision.
