Process Engineer - Chemical Operations

This person will work at a ~100-person high-purity batch chemical manufacturing facility located in Central Oregon. This person will wear many hats and will be doing work related to process optimization/improvement, process troubleshooting, quality engineering and root-cause analysis, work related to new product launches and product testing as well as working with teams on capital project efforts. This person will be part of a very collaborative team of engineers and scientists and will have a stake in making decisions within the plant environment and beyond. There is a lot of growth potential for this person as this company continue to expand and grow

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required

  • 3-5 years of post-college industry experience in chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or a closely related manufacturing environment
  • Experience in an engineering role supporting manufacturing, process improvement, product development, or commercial-scale chemical operations
  • Experience working in a Process Safety Management (PSM) regulated environment or direct familiarity with PSM standards and program elements
  • Strong background in process optimization, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis
  • Ability to support quality engineering efforts and help identify and implement process improvements
  • Experience supporting new product launches, production trials, and product testing
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with production, maintenance, EHS, quality, and development teams
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiments, or other process validation and characterization tools preferred
  • Ability to help define process requirements, support equipment improvements, and contribute to capital project efforts
  • Experience creating or updating SOPs, batch records, BOMs, or related manufacturing documentation preferred
  • Familiarity with PLC and/or DCS control systems is a strong plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in team-based, collaborative environments
