Cathay Home Inc. is a leading home textile design and manufacturing company. Headquartered in New York City with warehouses in New Jersey, Los Angeles, Toronto, and Mexico City—as well as factories in multiple countries—Cathay Home Inc. offers a full complement of products and services. These include manufacturing, importing, market research, sales, product development, design, logistics, EDI, VMI, drop shipping, and warehousing.
We are looking for a motivated and professional Senior Product Development & Production Specialist. The ideal candidate will track daily production processes, maintain contact with overseas factories, conduct market research, and generate creative product development ideas. You will also create purchase orders, maintain production data, follow up on sample approvals, and interface with designers, the sales team, stock planning, and account managers.
Responsibilities
• Track Deadlines: Review the time and action calendar for each assigned program to meet all necessary deadlines.
• Factory Communication: Follow up with factories regarding samples, production orders, and shipping schedules.
• Order Management: Create sales orders and purchase orders while maintaining accurate production data.
• Product Development: Conduct market research and generate creative ideas for new product development.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Follow up on sample approvals and interface with designers, sales, stock planning, and account managers.
Skills & Experience
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in the home textile or related industry required.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Work Style: Extremely detailed, organized, and able to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
• Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Bilingual: Must be fluent in both Chinese and English to communicate with overseas factories.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Exenta is a plus.
