Job Description

This role offers a starting range of $29 to $35 per hour. Actual compensation will be based on qualifications such as experience, education, certifications, and skills, as well as geographic considerations.

Are you excited by innovation and discovery? Join our team as an R&D Lab Technician at our cutting-edge Research & Development Center, where you'll play a key role in supporting Chemists as they develop the next generation of products. Reporting to the R&D Manager, you'll contribute to impactful projects while partnering with Manufacturing, R&D, and other departments to transform ideas into reality. As R&D Lab Tech, you will be responsible to:

  • Assist R&D Chemists by conducting research on manufactured products to develop and improve products, collects and records data, and reports results.
  • Work with managers and chemists on a wide variety of projects and products to maintain INX's leading role in the ink industry. This will involve various testing, weighing and accurately reporting results.
  • Conduct researching composition, structure, properties, relationships, and reactions of inks, coatings, or raw materials.
  • Maintain the work area, which includes cleaning and upkeep of equipment and instruments,ย waste disposal and keeping everything in safe working order.
  • Recognize and respondย appropriately to the urgencies of production situations.
  • Operate, clean, and understand principles and practical functions of lab equipment and instruments.ย 
  • Keep current on changing requirements in test methods, evaluations, specificationsย and other special situations.ย 
  • Complete assigned online safety training and work in a safe manner.
  • Order and maintain inventory of assigned lab supplies.
  • Work cooperatively with other groups in the technical department and withย other departments.
  • Take on added responsibilities as needs arise.
Qualifications

To perform your job as expected, you will be required to:

  • Associate's degree (A.A) or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school; or 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of both.ย  Chemistry or science degree preferred.
  • Possess good and effective written, reading comprehensionย and verbalย communication skills.
  • Have excellent basic math and computer skills.
  • Work on multiple projects at any time.
  • Interpret data and draw effective conclusions.

In addition to these qualifications, we will consider it a plus if you have:

  • Color matching experience.
  • Proficiency with a spectrophotometer and densitometer.
  • Press room experience.
  • Experience with solvent-based inks.
