Overview

Job Purpose

As a Product Manager, you will serve as the primary facilitator for managing requirements for medium to large scale Exchange Product/ Software Development projects. You will lead and coordinate the creation of requirement documentation and use cases from a wide variety of stakeholders and work with the Development, Quality Assurance and Operations teams to see that the requirements are implemented accurately, tested successfully and match stakeholder needs.

Responsibilities

  • Gather internal and external enhancement or new functionality requests from a diverse group of stakeholders including Technical Account Managers, Customers, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Accounting and Compliance
  • Help prioritize requirements along with Business, Sales, Operations, and Dev Executives
  • Be the primary facilitator responsible for analyzing, documenting and managing software requirements for medium to large scale Exchange Product Development projects
  • Create quality requirements artifacts including functional specifications, use cases, activity diagrams, process flows, business rules and technical specifications
  • Create GUI screen mockups and wireframes to depict desired User Interfaces
  • Document and improve user guides, charting, reporting and product specification management
  • Keep up to date on competitor offeringsand technology advances
  • Create test data in multiple test environments to aid the requirements analysis process
  • Work with Development and Quality Assurance to review all requirements documentation, receive feedback and ensure all issues related to the requirements are resolved in a timely manner
  • Enforce change control procedures to ensure that requirement changes are understood and the impact is appropriately assessed
  • Assist Project Management with prioritization and tracking of requirements through completion
  • Assist Quality Assurance with functional testing of requirements
  • Assist stakeholders with User Acceptance Testing of requirements
  • Train Operations and Sales/ Technical Account Managers on new features resulting from requirements
  • Assist Operations and Production Support QA with troubleshooting and analysis of production issues

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Business or Computer Science
  • 7+ yearsโ€™ experience in writing and managing requirements, and translating them into design/ architectural foundation
  • 4+ yearsโ€™ experience in using graphical UI wireframing tools such as Balsamiq, Sketch, Origami, etc.
  • 4+ years of experience using iterative development methodologies such as RUP and/or Agile
  • 4+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL
  • Experience with trading (futures, options, auctions, etc.), clearing, finance, banking or related financial service industries is preferred
  • Experience using AI to analyze stories or requirements (for ambiguity, gaps, generating mock-ups, etc.) and to generate customer notes or guides for functionality socialization is preferred
  • Experience/ familiarity with APIs, particularly FIX/ FIXML protocol is preferred
  • Must have Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Visio/ process flow creation experience
  • Must have strong analytical skills and excellent written as well as verbal communication skills
  • Must demonstrate strong technical aptitude and understanding of how technologies impact delivery
  • Must be detail-oriented, well-organized and self-motivated
  • Must be able to collaborate with various teams, and work well in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
