York's complete Space Segment Solution includes spacecraft production, payload integration, system integration & test, launch services, ground segment services, and mission operations, enabling customers to leverage York's existing technology solutions to get to orbit rapidly and responsively. We're looking to expand our team across the board.
York Space Systems is seeking an accomplished business development leader to join our rapidly growing team that is redefining the future of space. As the Business Development Director for Huntsville, AL, you will drive new business growth across the region's space and defense ecosystem, including opportunities within the Golden Dome architecture.
This role is ideal for a strategic, relationship-driven professional who thrives in dynamic environments and has deep ties within the aerospace and defense community. You will leverage your industry insight, customer relationships, and understanding of mission needs to shape, pursue, and win high-value opportunities aligned with York's innovative satellite platforms and space solutions.
This role will be fully on-site in our Huntsville, AL office and requires regular travel both within the region and out of state.
Responsibilities
  • Build, strengthen, and expand relationships with government and industry customers to drive strategic growth.
  • Leverage your existing network in the Huntsville space community to identify and advance business opportunities aligned with York's space solutions.
  • Represent York at customer meetings, industry days, regional events, and space ecosystem activities.
  • Identify high-value market opportunities through customer insight, competitive analysis, and government budget awareness.
  • Shape early opportunities, make recommendations for pursuit, and provide clear updates to guide business development strategy and pipeline decisions.
  • Partner cross-functionally with technical leadership, contracts, and program teams to align customer needs with York's capabilities.
  • Develop innovative capture strategies, win themes, and positioning for proposals and white papers to secure new business.
  • Willing to travel approximately 25% to visit space customers and attend industry events.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.

Note: This role does not include direct reports.
Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in the space domain with a strong technical understanding of space platforms.
  • Established network of customer relationships within the space community, particularly within the Huntsville, AL area (i.e. Missile Defense Agency).
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capability.
  • Highly adaptable with the ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to travel an estimated 25% to visit space customers, attend industry events, and collaborate with team members.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance.
  • Willingness to work full-time on-site in Huntsville, Alabama
