Position Overview:

The Development Associate performs a range of functions in support of the furtherance of PBS Foundation's fundraising efforts, including resource development, research, administrative support, and prospect management. The Development Associate is a key member of a dynamic and collaborative team. The incumbent will be thoughtful, creative and detail-oriented.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Administrative Support, Planning and Logistics

The principal responsibilities in support of thefrontline fundraisersinclude the following:

  • Maintain adequate supplies and resources (subscriptions, memberships, and licenses).

  • Coordinate with theResearch Team to create lists needed for holiday mailings and other targeted communications.

  • Support the onboarding process for new team members.

Donor and Prospective Donor Relationship Management:

The principal responsibilities related to the support of two (2) Senior Directors include the following:

  • Manage schedules in Outlook, set-up virtual meetings, arrange businesstraveland process expense reports.

  • Build rapport and productive relationships with support teams at the businesses and family offices of donors and prospective donors.

  • Create andmaintainconstituent records in CRM,assistin entering contact reports and other actions, and track andmonitorconstituent actions against performance metrics.

  • Support the work toestablishand manage campaign advisory committees.

  • Assistin research activities to inform prospect qualification and strategy decisions.

  • Assistin preparing materials, including agendas, presentation decks, and proposals for prospective donors.

  • Assistin the planning and execution of cultivation activities and otherspecial events.

  • As assigned,assistwith stewardship reports for individual donors, specifically those with directed or programmatic giving.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements for success:

  • Bachelor's degreerequired, or the equivalent combination of experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • At least two to five years of recent non-profit development work experience.

  • At least two years of experience using a fundraising donor management software system.

  • Ability to handle confidential andhighly sensitiveinformation with a high degree of discretion, judgment, tact, and poise.

  • Attention to detail, creative, proactive, organized, and thorough with desire for continuous improvement.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Consistentlydemonstratesrespect for inclusion, diversity, and ethics.

  • Supports the mission of PBS and public media.

  • May require working flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

  • Limited travel may berequired.

The base pay range for this position at the beginning of employment is expected to be between $50,000 and $60,000/year. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements for eligible employees, including: (i) eligibility for discretionary bonuses; (ii) various insurance options, including medical, dental, vision, hearing, life, accidental death and dismemberment, short-term and long-term disability, and business travel accident insurance; (iii) identity protection program; (iv) employee assistance program; (v) financial and retirement savings benefits including the PBS Retirement Plan 403(b); (vi) paid time off (17 days per year), paid sick time benefits (12 days per year), paid parental leave (60 days / 12 weeks ), and paid holidays (12 days per year).
