We functions as a bridge between Walmart's vast omnichannel ecosystem and our supplier community, transforming raw data into actionable retail insights. As a Manager, Business Development for Data Ventures, you will be responsible for driving sales and managing strategic partnerships for Walmart Scintilla. You will play a pivotal role in expanding our customer base by introducing the platform and value proposition of Scintilla, ultimately selling subscriptions. This role requires a deep understanding of data analytics, a strong sales acumen the ability communicate a vast value proposition, and an understanding of how to forge relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales and Business Development:
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets for Walmart Scintilla subscriptions.
  • Identify and target potential clients that can benefit from Scintilla's offerings.
  • Self-guided research to understand industry trends and customer needs
  • Relationship Management:
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships both internally and with potential clients.
  • Conduct presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the value of Walmart Scintilla.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals to drive subscription sales.
  • Strategic Partnerships:
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and develop strategic partnerships that enhance the value proposition of Walmart Scintilla.
  • Work closely with product development and marketing teams to align sales strategies with product offerings.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting:
  • Monitor sales performance and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Analyze sales data to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Daily use of CRM tools (Saleforce) to manage sales pipeline and track customer interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Requires knowledge of:
    • Syndicated Point of Sale (POS) Data Industry (e.g. NielsenIQ, Circana, SPINS, etc.)
    • Primary Research methods and analytics
    • Supply Chain, Logistics and Replenishment data and analytics
    • eCommerce environments and Path-to-Purchase analytics
    • Retail Media ad targeting capabilities and advertising performance analytics.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in sales, business development, or a related role, preferably in the data analytics or technology sector.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing strategic partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of data analytics and its applications in business decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
