At Haggar, a division of RAA, we are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Product Development Associate to join our Apparel team. This role supports the end-to-end product development process, working closely with Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, and Production teams to bring seasonal collections to life. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and has a strong understanding of garment construction, fabric, trims, and the development calendar.

Position Overview:

At Haggar Men’s Apparel, we create products with purpose—combining quality, comfort, innovation, and value to strengthen our position as the market share leader in Men’s Pants and Tailored Clothing and one of America’s leading menswear brands.

As the Associate Product Developer, you will join a small, entrepreneurial team with the opportunity to make a visible impact, build broad experience, and grow your career while learning from an experienced and highly collaborative leadership team.

Working under the direction of the head of Merchandising and Product Development, you will leverage established tools and processes to develop and commercialize products that support profitable channel growth.

This role is ideal for a high-potential candidate who is energized in a fast-paced environment and is eager to learn, highly organized, and motivated to creatively and collaboratively solve problems.

Essential Role Functions:

Product Development & Commercialization

  • Partner with Design and Merchandising teams to turn consumer needs, trends, and commercial opportunities into product priorities by ensuring all details align with design intent and business needs.
  • Manage line plans and timelines to support on-time sampling and production readiness.
  • Review trim cards, fabric and color approvals, and production garments for BOM accuracy and quality.
  • Coordinate packaging requests and approvals in partnership with Marketing, Merchandising, and Design.

Vendor & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner daily with vendors, mills, and suppliers to keep development and production on track.
  • Identify issues early and help drive practical solutions with internal and external partners.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with vendor partners to support efficient execution.
  • Support trim and packaging sourcing by initiating development and evaluating costing options.

Product Data & Process Execution

  • Manage style set-up and product data in ERP and PLM to support costing, development, and production.
  • Initiate production workflows for new orders through the ERP system with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Review and finalize BOMs in the PLM system for new, carryover, and replenishment styles with complete, accurate information.
  • Create packaging and packing manuals in PLM aligned with timelines and customer requirements.
  • Maintain organized physical and digital libraries for fabrics, trims, packaging, and samples.

Why Join Us:

  • Gain hands-on experience across product development, merchandising, sourcing, and commercialization.
  • Learn from an experienced, collaborative leadership team in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Build exposure to the full product lifecycle, from concept and materials through sampling, commercialization, and launch.
  • Develop foundational skills in apparel construction, materials, systems, vendor communication, and cross-functional execution.
  • Grow your career in a role with meaningful visibility, ownership, and impact.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Textiles, Product Development, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 1-3years of internship, co-op, assistant-level, or other early-career experience in apparel-product development or a related field; recent graduates with relevant internship experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to evaluate color, trims, fabric hand, and sample quality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with overseas mills and factory partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive, collaborative mindset with a strong desire to learn and grow.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience with PLM systems such as Yunique or FlexPLM.
  • Experience with fabric, trim, organization testing requirements, and test methods.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop.
  • Experience in menswear and tailored clothing.

What we Offer:

  • Competitive base salary.
  • Three weeks of paid time off within the first year of employment.
  • The company provided life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, and paid parental leave.
  • Health, vision, and dental insurance options with low employee contributions.
  • Commuter benefit plan.
  • Optional supplemental life insurance, pet insurance, and accident & critical illness insurance are offered at a group discount rate.
  • 401(k).
  • Unlimited access to our award-winning online fitness and wellness program.
  • A great place to work, fast-paced, with terrific career growth
