Job description

Atlas Roofing Shingle and Underlayment is seeking a Production Line Lead for Clinton, IA.
Production Line Lead Primary Responsibilities
  • Become trained in all production line positions and provide relief coverage as needed.
  • Lead and participate in daily production meetings and shift huddles to prioritize work and maximize efficiency.
  • Assist the Production Supervisor with employee training, coaching, and development.
  • Assist in resolving production reporting issues and maintaining accurate production records.
  • Participate in root cause failure analyses, accident investigations, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Work closely with plant leadership to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production operations.
  • Ensure quality products are produced while assisting with troubleshooting, corrective actions, and quality improvements.
  • Lead by example in performing all job duties safely, maintaining a safe work environment, and ensuring compliance with all plant safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in safety initiatives, continuous improvement initiatives, safety audits, and other assigned inspections.
  • Promote excellent housekeeping standards throughout the production area.
  • Complete additional assignments and projects as needed to support the production team.
  • Perform any and all other duties as assigned.

Production Line Lead Experience
  • 3+ years of manufacturing or production experience is required.
  • Previous leadership or lead experience is preferred.
  • Previous shingle manufacturing experience is preferred.

Production Line Lead Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to become qualified in a minimum of five (5) production line positions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Proven ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Proficient with using computers and business software, including Microsoft Office, email, and internet-based applications.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and maintain consistent attendance.

Production Line Lead Education, Licenses & Certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Willingness to obtain First Aid and CPR certification.

Production Line Lead Additional Information
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this position, the Production Line Lead is regularly required to communicate verbally and hear effectively. The role frequently requires standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, climbing stairs and ladders, grasping, performing fine and gross motor movements, and reaching both forward and above head level throughout the duration of the shift. The employee must be able to work in varying temperature conditions, safely operate assigned machinery, and regularly push, pull and/or lift up to 75 pounds.
