What are Product Design New Grad roles?

Product Design New Grad roles are entry-level positions for recent graduates who want to start their careers in product design. These roles typically involve working on designing user interfaces, user experiences, and visual elements for digital products such as apps or websites. As a new grad, you'll often collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other designers to bring ideas to life from concept to launch, while learning industry best practices. These positions are designed to help new designers grow their skills and transition into the professional world.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Product Design New Grad, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Product Design New Grad, you need a solid understanding of design principles, user experience (UX), and proficiency in design tools, often supported by a degree in design or a related field. Familiarity with industry-standard software like Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools is typically expected. Strong collaboration, creative problem-solving, and communication skills help you work effectively with cross-functional teams and articulate design decisions. These skills ensure you can contribute fresh ideas, create user-centered solutions, and adapt in fast-paced, iterative design environments.

What kinds of projects can a Product Design New Grad expect to work on during their first year?

As a Product Design New Grad, you will typically work on a variety of projects ranging from user interface improvements to supporting the launch of new features under the guidance of senior designers. You'll participate in brainstorming sessions, user research, wireframing, prototyping, and collaborating closely with product managers and engineers. Many new grads start with smaller feature enhancements or iterations before moving on to more complex projects as they gain experience and confidence. This structure helps you build a strong design foundation while learning the company's design system and workflow.

Job description

New Grad Product Engineer
About Titan:
Titan is an AI holding company transforming IT services with its Augmented AI platform. We acquire and partner with the best Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and embed AI at the core of their operations, empowering technicians to work faster, smarter, and more strategically. Our augmented AI platform enables MSPs to scale like technology companies while delivering faster resolutions, better uptime, and more proactive, personalized support for their customers.
In under a year, we've raised over $70M from General Catalyst, acquired market-leading MSPs like RFA, and deployed agents who are seeing real-world impact on productivity. Our team brings together AI product expertise from Scale AI, Google, MIT, and Stanford, with private equity experience from H.I.G. Capital and seasoned MSP executives who have led some of the industry's top providers. Joining Titan means helping to redefine how work is done in IT Services and building a $100B company.
About The Role:
We are looking for a "high-slope" New Grad who doesn't just want to code, but wants to build products that people actually use. As a New Grad Product Engineer at Titan, you'll be paired with seasoned Senior Product Engineers (many of whom are ex-founders) to take on major product initiatives. This isn't a "rotational program" or a "shadowing" role - you will be expected to ship production code, talk to users, and iterate on AI-native features from day one.
What You Will Do:
  • Contribute to production features that integrate AI directly into technician workflows. Code that ships. Code that gets used.
  • Participate in user interviews and feedback sessions. Understand the operational problems behind what we're building.
  • Own small-to-medium features end-to-end, backend logic, frontend implementation, and iteration after launch.
  • Learn how to balance speed with quality. Experience the 0→1 phase inside a fast-scaling company.

Who You Are:
  • You've built something outside of class. A SaaS tool. A trading bot. A mobile app. A community product. Something with real users.
  • You've handled bug reports. Shipped updates. Felt the pressure of real feedback.
  • Pursuing or recently completed a CS degree from a rigorous program. You understand fundamentals - data structures, systems, and architecture.
  • Comfortable with modern web technologies (TypeScript, Python, React). Curious about AI systems and how LLMs change product design.
  • You don't wait for perfect specs. You ask questions, unblock yourself, and move.
  • Bonus: You've built something that generated revenue.
  • Bonus: You've worked with AI/ML frameworks or integrated LLM APIs into real applications.
