As a Mechanical Engineer in our Power Systems Division, you'll play a key role in bringing new ideas to life while enhancing the products our customers rely on every day. Working within our Customer Backed Innovation (CBI) process, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve real-world challenges and develop innovative solutions.

How You Will Make an Impact

Product Design & Development

  • Lead mechanical design efforts from concept through prototype, testing, Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA), production, and continuous product improvement.

  • Develop innovative, reliable, and cost-effective solutions that support both new product development and our existing product portfolio.

  • Participate in Customer Backed Innovation (CBI) initiatives to transform customer insights into meaningful product solutions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with product managers, engineers, technicians, manufacturing, service, and suppliers to successfully develop and launch products.

  • Resolve engineering challenges related to manufacturing, supplier quality, and field performance while driving continuous improvement.
     

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.

  • 3–5 years of mechanical engineering experience preferred.

  • Proven success delivering innovative product designs while meeting project timelines.
     

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with SolidWorks, PDM Professional, SolidWorks Simulation, CF Design, MS Project, and Microsoft Office.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and product development processes.
     

Preferred Qualifications

Technical Expertise

  • Experience designing sheet metal, plastic, and aluminum cast or extruded components.

  • Ability to evaluate and select materials based on durability, manufacturability, and cost.

  • Experience analyzing thermal performance, structural integrity, sound attenuation, and product packaging.

  • Knowledge of vibration analysis and related testing equipment.

  • Understanding of gasoline and diesel engines.

  • Familiarity with AC/DC motors and generators.

  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC system design.

  • Knowledge of applicable industry standards, including CSA, IEC, NEC, UL, ETL, and EPA requirements.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple concurrent projects.
