Spectrum Control designs and manufactures high-performance electronic components and subsystems used in the world's most demanding defense, aerospace, industrial, medical, and communications applications. Our products help customers solve complex electromagnetic interference (EMI), power management, and signal integrity challenges where reliability is mission critical.
We are seeking an experienced Product Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Fairview, Pennsylvania. This position plays a key role in the development of innovative electromechanical products from concept through production while supporting continuous improvement of existing product lines.
The ideal candidate combines strong electrical engineering fundamentals with experience designing ruggedized power electronics and electromechanical assemblies for high-reliability environments.
Essential Job Functions
New Product Development
  • Design and develop innovative electromechanical products from concept through production release.
  • Lead engineering activities throughout the product development lifecycle, including concept generation, detailed design, validation, and manufacturing transfer.
  • Develop electrical schematics, circuit models, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and technical documentation.

Product Design & Optimization
  • Improve existing product designs to enhance electrical performance, manufacturability, quality, reliability, and cost.
  • Evaluate design tradeoffs while balancing customer requirements, manufacturing capabilities, and business objectives.
  • Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and product lifecycle management activities.

Analysis, Simulation & Validation
  • Perform electrical analysis, circuit simulation, and design verification using PSpice, ETAP, or equivalent modeling software.
  • Design products focused on AC/DC power management, EMI/EMC filtering, transient suppression, and power distribution.
