POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the design, development, integration, and validation of mechanical components and systems to ensure they meet performance, quality, and reliability requirements. The role develops and maintains accurate 2D drawings and 3D CAD models to support design and manufacturing, while collaborating with Sales, Quality, Application Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and CNC Programming to ensure designs are practical and efficient. This position also selects appropriate materials, fits, and tolerances based on functional and application requirements.



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS ย 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred; related engineering degrees with relevant experience considered).ย 
  • 6+ years of mechanical/product design experience.ย 
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software (Creo preferred).ย 
  • Experience creating engineering drawings and applying GD&T standards.ย 
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, systems engineering, and manufacturing processes.ย 
  • Ability to design complex mechanical systems, manage multiple projects, and solve technical problems independently.ย 
  • Strong communication, analytical, and teamwork skills.ย 
  • Defense/firearms industry experience, system-level engineering experience, and CNC machining knowledge are preferred.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Expeditiously manage emergency activities allowing focus to remain with completing projects/tasks assigned by the Supervisor
  • Demonstrate flexibility in handling work assignments.
  • Ensure that designs meet function, safety, and quality requirements before releasing for use
  • Responsible for design, design updates, and design drawing releases on projects.
  • Interface with Production and Tooling, Sales, and Quality departments in cooperative, professional, and helpful manner
  • Participates and leads in design reviews.
  • Responsible for establishing testing requirements for designs and updates. Must perform or support testing as required.ย 
  • Alert the Supervisor of issues that may have any negative impact on the value of the end products being provided.
  • Communicate with the Supervisor to ensure common understanding of design activity, progress, and organization of projects
  • Meet time standards established for tasks
  • Report any issues affecting productivity, safety, and quality to the Supervisor
  • Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor
  • Follow company procedures and policies
  • Adequate control, protection, and use of the assets of the company
