Job description

Company Description
Come join a growing team! FOODMatch is searching for a Quality Assurance Product Coordinator to join our Quality Assurance team focusing on new products.
FOODMatch is a producer and importer of Mediterranean specialty foods with a focus on olives, antipasti, and ingredients. Founded in 1996, FOODMatch is a producer and importer of Mediterranean specialty foods with a distinct expertise in traditionally and responsibly crafted olives, antipasti, spreads, sauces, and ingredients. FOODMatch plays an integral role in ensuring the quality of our products. The FOODMatch difference begins in the fields and groves. We are vertically integrated with our partners to ensure that each step along the production chain is completed to meticulous standards: from irrigation and pruning, to harvesting, sorting and stuffing by hand, to expertly curing and preserving, we ensure each ingredient delivers its natural flavor, color, and texture. Simply put, no detail is spared.
Through the hands of our growers we create great tasting, responsibly produced, authentic foods that nurture community and enhance your quality of life.
Job Description
Love food? Curious about how great products go from an idea to the shelf?
FOODMatch is looking for a Product & Quality Coordinator to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on food experience who wants to take the next step in their career and learn more about product development, quality, and the specialty food industry.
You don't need to be a career Quality Assurance professional. We're looking for someone who knows food, cares about quality, is organized, curious, and eager to learn.
If you've worked in restaurants, culinary operations, food production, specialty foods, or a similar environment and you're ready to grow into something new, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
You'll work closely with our Quality, Product, Marketing, Operations, and supplier teams to help make sure our products meet FOODMatch's standards from development through launch.
  • Reviewing and organizing product specifications, labels, and other product information
  • Coordinating new products from development through their first order
  • Working with suppliers to gather product, packaging, ingredient, and nutritional information
  • Helping review labels and product claims
  • Participating in product tastings and evaluations of new and existing products
  • Comparing products against specifications and quality standards
  • Helping monitor shelf life and product quality
  • Keeping product information, samples, and documentation organized and up to date
  • Following up with suppliers and internal teams to keep projects moving
  • Helping investigate quality concerns when they come up
  • Occasionally visiting warehouses or supplier facilities to review products firsthand

Qualifications
Who We're Looking For
We're more interested in your food experience, curiosity, and potential than advanced degrees or years of traditional QA experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience working with food, including restaurants, culinary, food production, specialty food, product development, quality, operations, or a related environment
  • Some experience working in a structured professional or business environment, with the ability to manage your time, communicate clearly, and collaborate across teams
  • A strong understanding and appreciation of food, ingredients, flavors, and quality
  • A genuine passion for food and an interest in learning how food products are developed and evaluated
  • A hands-on, go-getter attitude. You're comfortable asking questions, figuring things out, and following through
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage several projects and priorities at once
  • Good communication skills and confidence working with different teams and suppliers
  • An interest in building a career in food product development and quality

Experience with food safety, HACCP, GMPs, labeling, or QA is a plus, but it's not required.
Additional Information
What Makes This Role Exciting
You'll taste products, learn about ingredients, work with suppliers, help launch new items, solve problems, and develop a deeper understanding of what makes a great food product.
For someone who loves food and wants to build a career in the industry, this role offers exposure to many different sides of the business and plenty of room to learn and grow.
Location
Hybrid, 4 days in office / 1 day remote
Travel
Minimal, typically less than 10%
At FOODMatch, food is at the center of what we do. We're looking for someone who shares that enthusiasm and is excited to turn their food experience into the next step of their career.
