WE’RE HIRING!

Let’s help you launch your career with Alberta Veterinary Laboratories (“AVL/Solvet”)! We are looking for two energetic and dedicated Production Assistants to join our team on-site in our Calgary facility working 40 hours/week (Monday - Friday), day shift. One position is for a term of 4 months. One position is for a term of 6 months.

THE ROLE

The Production Assistant supports the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products by performing a variety of tasks on the production floor.

This role ensures products are produced in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and company quality standards.

DAY-TO-DAY

  • Assist in the preparation, compounding, packaging, labeling, and production of pharmaceutical products according to approved batch records, SOPs, and cGMP standards.
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment under supervision.
  • Set up, clean, and sanitize equipment and production areas in compliance with company procedures and regulatory guidelines.
  • Accurately complete documentation, including logbooks, work orders, and other required records.
  • Transport materials, components, and finished products within the facility.
  • Adhere to all company SOPs, safety protocols, and cGMP regulations, including proper use of PPE.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or process deviations promptly.
  • Support quality assurance and control activities as needed.
  • Participate in training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company policies and perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to follow instructions precisely and maintain attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with speaking, writing and understanding English.
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights (up to 25–50 lbs).
  • Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment and adhere to strict hygiene standards.
