About the Role:
The Produce Clerk ensures produce displays and shelving are well stocked, clean, organized, and presentable. This role trims and rotates products to maintain freshness and quality, assists customers with their needs, and supports department operations, all while following Vallarta’s high standards of food safety and customer service.

What You’ll Do:
  • Customer Service: Smile, greet, and assist customers courteously.
  • Merchandising: Stock, trim, rotate, and replenish produce items to ensure freshness and quality.
  • Operations: Load, transport, and organize produce merchandise from coolers, storage, wet rack, and sales floor.
  • Product Handling: Handle produce items carefully to prevent waste and damage; report poor quality immediately.
  • Compliance & Safety: Follow company and health regulations; promote Vallarta’s Safety Program and report unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Sanitation: Clean produce displays, equipment, and supplies; sweep and mop floors.
  • Teamwork: Assist coworkers, support merchandising plans approved by management, and communicate with supervisors.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned to support department goals.

Physical Requirements:
  • Stand and walk for long periods (6–8 hours/day).
  • Frequently bend, squat, twist, kneel, and reach above/below shoulders.
  • Frequent use of hands for simple and power grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
  • Lift and carry up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally (e.g., potatoes, beans).
  • Heaviest item carried: 50 lbs.; longest distance: 5 feet.
  • Operate cars, trucks, forklifts, and other moving equipment safely.
  • Work near equipment and machinery; may walk on uneven ground.
  • Exposure to dust, gas, fumes, and noise.
