Job description

Position Overview:
As the Produce Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the produce department. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and freshness of produce, managing inventory, supervising staff, and providing excellent customer service as well as achieving sales targets for your department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Promoting a positive shopping experience for customers while maintaining a well-organized visually appealing produce department
  • Monitor the quality and freshness of produce to meet and/or exceed customer expectations
  • Ensuring proper handling, storage and rotation of produce to minimize waste and maintain optimal quality
  • Ordering and replenishing produce inventory based on sales trends, customer preferences and seasonal availability
  • Conducting regular inventory counts, managing overstock and minimizing shrink
  • Arrange produce in an organized and visually appealing manner while following the store merchandising plan and seasonal themes and sale promotions
  • Address customer complaints or concerns in a timely manner with professionalism to ensure continued customer satisfaction
  • Train and supervise the produce department staff to ensure efficient operations and adherence to company policies
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance management and feedback to encourage growth and development
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including but not limited to proper handling of produce, sanitation and safe use of equipment
  • Implement and enforce cleanliness standards with produce department
  • Analyze sales data, identify trends and recommend adjustments to pricing, promotions and other product offerings
  • Adhere to all company safety standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

  • Able to work in various environmental temperatures

Schedule:
  • Must have a flexible schedule to work weekdays, evenings weekends and holidays.

Pay: $ 23.00 plus per hour depending on experience
Experience:
  • Preferred: One (1) year retail experience or relevant experience
  • Serve Safe certification or comparable

Skills:
  • Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; walking on a variety of flooring such as concrete, tile, carpet etc
  • Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Working in a team-based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality
  • Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives
  • Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift
