The  Transmission Practice is seeking a Senior Gas Designer, Distribution. This Wisconsin-based role is remote-friendly, and is ideal for an individual with the ability or willingness to work within or relocate near or within the Wisconsin Public Service territory.

This role supports the delivery of gas distribution design work for a new and growing client partnership with Wisconsin Public Service. On a daily basis, this person is executing detailed design work, producing plans and supporting field and construction requirements, while helping establish DEA's capability in gas distribution. 

As one of the first dedicated gas designers on the team, you will play a key role in building this discipline, ensuring work is delivered accurately and efficiently, and eventually providing oversight and guidance as additional designers are added.

What You'll DoKey Responsibilities:
  • Perform gas distribution design, including preparation of plans, layouts, and supporting documentation for utility projects
  • Execute design work consistently and efficiently to meet client timelines and delivery expectations
  • Apply knowledge of utility standards, codes, and client-specific requirements to produce accurate, construction-ready designs
  • Coordinate with internal team members and client stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project execution
  • Support the development of gas design workflows, processes, and best practices as the team grows
  • Provide guidance and oversight to junior designers as additional staff are onboarded
  • Contribute to cross-training efforts to support long-term capability across both gas and electric distribution design
What You BringRequired Qualifications:
  • 5-7 Years of proven experience in gas distribution design within a utility or consulting environment
  • Ability to independently execute design work and manage complex assignments with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated experience preparing construction-ready plans and technical design documentation
  • Strong understanding of utility design standards, safety requirements, and field conditions
  • Ability to manage workload in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with both internal teams and clients
  • Willingness to work in a field environment as needed
  • Ability or willingness to work within or relocate near or within the Wisconsin Public Service territory
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with Wisconsin Public Service or similar utility clients
  • Strong background specifically in gas distribution design 
  • Experience mentoring, reviewing, or overseeing the work of junior designers
  • Familiarity with industry-standard design tools and utility systems
  • Previous gas construction / maintenance field experience
