Job description

Our gourmet marketplace is seeking an experienced and motivated Produce Manager to lead our Produce Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who is passionate about fresh, high-quality products, team development, and delivering an outstanding customer experience. The Produce Manager will oversee all daily department operations, ensuring product quality, inventory accuracy, merchandising excellence, and financial performance.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Produce Department, ensuring efficient workflow and exceptional product presentation.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and supervise department associates to maintain a high-performing team.
  • Manage inventory by monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and minimizing shrink while meeting customer demand.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing, delivery schedules, and product return agreements.
  • Ensure all produce meets company quality standards, freshness expectations, and merchandising guidelines.
  • Analyze sales performance, department expenses, and inventory reports to identify opportunities for growth and operational improvements.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by creating a clean, organized, and well-stocked shopping environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
