Job description

Produce Associates are responsible for providing excellent customer service by satisfying each customer’s need, exceeding their expectations, and ensuring that customers have a warm and friendly shopping experience throughout the store. In addition, they share their product knowledge and enthusiasm with our customers by answering any questions, assisting with product suggestions, and educating on the products we sell.

Customer Service:

  • Responsible for providing excellent customer service while demonstrating a passion for Green’s.
  • Demonstrate an overall knowledge of programs and operations within the department.
  • Respond positively to customer’s inquiries and assists customers with purchases, information, and product selection.
  • Greet customers, establish eye contact with customers.
  • Speak to customers in a respectful manner and maintain patience in addressing customer concerns.
  • Scan products, process credit cards and cash, balance cash registers.
  • Document all void transactions, refunds and change requests, record and report Point of Sale discrepancies, identify counterfeit money.
  • Deliver impeccable customer experience through service and in-stock conditions in the department.

Merchandising:

  • Maintain and promote items including new items and weekly specials.
  • Keep refrigerated coolers, store shelves and other displays fully stocked and faced at all times according to tag.
  • Display merchandise in an attractive, appealing, neat and colorful manner.
  • Keep merchandise rotated in accordance with departmental policy and product code dates and pull out all out-of date merchandise.
  • Follow approved procedures for receiving product, price marking and restocking to ensure quality protection,
  • Keep manager or other designated personnel aware of low inventory conditions or spoilage problems.

Teamwork:

  • Arrive to work on time and ready to work at the start of their shift.
  • Be friendly, courteous and respectful of fellow team members – have a positive attitude.
  • Discover ways to improve processes.
  • Seek out new assignments and responsibilities.

Competencies

  • Receive produce deliveries following established receiving procedures.
  • Help plan attractive produce displays, using color and texture to enhance.
  • Assist customers with produce questions and special orders. Offer samples and suggestions for purchase and preparation in a friendly, courteous manner.

Work Environment

This job operates in a retail business environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items that weigh more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Days and hours of work vary by schedule. Evening and weekend work may be required as schedule demands.

Starting Salary: $17.50/ hour
