Summary:
The Procurement Manager identifies and enables opportunities for cost reductions, cost avoidance and service improvements at the plant. This position builds strong and effective relationships both with internal customers, the local/regional category team, and external suppliers to create the framework-for the implementation of procurement initiatives and processes at the plant.
What you'll be contributing:
  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
  • Identifies and enable opportunities for cost reductions, cost avoidance and service improvements at the local level.
  • Source third party services and direct materials.
  • Negotiates with vendors to achieve cost-effective purchasing transactions while maximizing quality, customer service, and desired delivery times
  • Provides monthly reporting on savings, benefits, key initiatives, and projects.
  • Works closely with operations and suppliers to procure at the lowest total cost of ownership.
  • Manages the delivery of items to minimize the risk to the operation.
  • Manages on-going supplier relationship and develop criteria and processes to monitor supplier compliance at the local level.
  • Supports internal customer projects for sourcing and purchasing needs.
  • Explores and understands customers' requirements to ensure a high level of responsive service.
  • Attends regular operational meetings (daily/weekly) and provide updates and feedback on important issues.
  • Manages supplier performance (delivery, quality, first pass invoice)
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

To succeed in this position, you will need:
  • Minimum 4 year - Bachelor's Degree in engineering, purchasing, accounting, business, or a related field.
  • Preferred CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or a suitable Supply Chain certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sourcing/procurement, preferably in an operational environment.
  • Proficient in English written, verbal communication, and listening skills
  • Ability to effectively negotiation
  • Knowledge of MS Office, and ERP
  • Knowledge of procurement including tendering, data analysis, negotiation and contracting
  • Skills in cost analysis and management
  • Strong strategic skills and problem solving/analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of Business operations and financial principles
  • Knowledge of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) practices and principles
  • Ability to be focused on achieving results
  • Ability to coordinate and develop innovative strategies and recommendations for initiating and establishing goals
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support organizational goals
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of Stakeholder management strategies
