AES a division of Lennox, was established in 1988 and is one of the largest manufacturers of roof curbs and drop box diffuser systems in the nation.  We have recently expanded our capabilities as a single source supplier by adding a Mechanical Services Division as well as becoming a Misc. Steel manufacturer.  These new services will reduce construction costs and eliminate coordination with multiple suppliers and subcontractors.  Our focus will be to enhance the services provided to our General Contractor network nationwide.  AES has 4 different fabrication facility locations nationwide to assist our customers and reduce their freight cost and shipment lead times.

What Drives Success

This manager directs the activities of buyers and purchasing agents who are responsible for the external negotiation and purchase of raw materials, parts, supplies and services at minimum cost, consistent with delivery requirements and quality specifications.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct the procurement activities of buyers. Responsible for the outcome of team procurement negotiations and supplier management.
  • Establish procedures to accomplish the procurement of a variety of materials in a cost-effective manner.
  • Coordinate procurement activities with user representatives to develop procurement programs and plans.
  • Monitor the performance and capabilities of vendors to ensure maintenance of delivery, quality and price commitments.
  • Continually assess market conditions that may affect procurements.
  • Supervise the negotiation of blanket orders and long-term purchase agreements covering procurement or major commodities.
  • Interface between company and suppliers on quality, engineering and procurement matters.
  • Develop and implement strategies to establish long-term sourcing.
What We Are Looking For

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An MBA or equivalent is preferred. Requires at least 8 years related experience.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of purchasing policies and practices. Has broad expertise including purchasing for lean manufacturing, Kanban and supplier development.
  • Requires excellent negotiation abilities and strong analytical skills.
  • Shows exceptional verbal and written communication skills including with executives or in international contexts.
  • Requires knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality control.
  • Must have knowledge of economic principles and financial markets.
  • Must be able to direct and evaluate the work of a procurement team.
  • Competent in computerized procurement systems.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. May require MS Access experience.
  • Willing and able to travel 20% of the time.

This role will require occasional travel to production sites in Reno, NV; Weatherford, TX; and Wheeling, WV. Approximately 20% of your time will be dedicated to traveling to these sites, allowing you to build strong relationships with on-site teams and facilitate cross-site collaboration.

What We Offer

Compensation: This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $98,000 - $128,000 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company's applicable plan. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.
