Job description

Workday Integration Developer

Location: Hybrid in McLean, VA- onsite T,W,Thurs โ€“ must be local to McLean, VA- will not accept relocate Duration: 3 โ€“ 6 month, contract to hire

Job Description:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand complex business requirements, translating them into technology solutions
  • Perform solution assessments across Workday integration technologies
  • Advise on Workday API capabilities/limitations and supported authentication methods
  • Design and build complex, scalable integrations using the suite of Workday Integration technologies (Reports-as-a-Service, EIB, Document Transformation, Connectors, Workday Studio, Workday Web Services API, and Workday REST API)
  • Thoroughly test integrations through unit testing and UAT, creating/executing appropriate test scripts, coordinating testing resources, and documenting cases
  • Analyze the current integration landscape to identify and address technical debt as it relates to functionality, performance, error handling, and scalability
  • Design and implement robust error-handling mechanisms to ensure appropriate logging and alerting
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, regression test, and provide resolutions
  • Provide technical support for HRMS and partner with HRIS/Workday configurations team to thoroughly evaluate, communicate, and coordinate the technical impacts of associated configuration decisions
  • Evaluate change requests and communicate their impacts to project timeline and budget
  • Maintain design specifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
  • 5+ years of demonstrated Workday integration development experience using Workdays integration tools (i.e., Reports-as-a-Service, Enterprise Interface Builder, Document Transformation, Connectors, Workday Studio, or similar)
  • Extensive experience working with the following Workday modules - Procure to Pay, Expenses, Strategic Sourcing, and Vendor Management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Workday Pro certifications in Integration Administration/WD Studio
  • Strong experience using XSLT to transform XML data from Workday reports and WS responses
  • Strong experience using industry-standard web services technology, which encompass WSDL, SOAP, REST, and the WS-* standards

Call Notes:

  • Workday Dev role will develop integrations between Workday and other applications. Not looking for configuration / configure workday, will build connections between Workday and other applications. Need to show what they have developed and the connection between Workday and other applications.
  • Certs: nice to have
  • 5+ yrs of Workday integration development
  • Industry exp does not matter. If they have procurement / pay exp would be helpful, Workday Financial developer. Moving financial from PeopleSoft to Workday, have done this with Procurement and Accounts Payable. Looking to backfill someone who moved to another department.
  • Workday development using workday tools- workday studio, connectors, to exchange information with other systems. They use Beeline for vendor management, need to exchange information between Beeline and Workday, would support that and make necessary changes.
  • Day to day: support supply chain / procurement area, any production support issues, they will resolve, moving off of Peoplesoft and left a small piece of the procurement pay in PeopleSoft, will migrate that functionality to Workday.
  • Report as a service, API, Workday studio, workday connectors
  • Testing: Unit testing
