Team Overview

TU Procure is a team of professional buyers and negotiators that acquires products and services that TransUnion requires both locally and globally. TU Procure buying teams are organized by category and commodity and are supported by TU Procure Operations.
The TU Procure team also manages the relationships with vendors that supply TransUnion and also interfaces with other internal functions that oversee third party relationships such as Information Security, Accounts Payable, Finance, Legal, and Third Party Risk functions. The team manages RFI's, RFP's and Predictive Benchmarks to facilitate the bidding process. The two most important objectives in our negotiations are to protect the company and to get the best possible cost of ownership for the products and services being acquired. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

The Procurement Consultant (Buyer) is responsible for the delivery of procurement activity within categories such as Marketing, IT, HR, Professional Services and Facilities in order to deliver a robust, cost effective and committed supply base capable of supporting significant growth expectations. They will work with stakeholders to develop tender/RFP and contract documents for procurement activity whilst championing and driving continuous improvements.

Core Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Developing strong working relationships with key stakeholders and working in a way that positively engages the support of stakeholders.
  • Influencing peers to promote and implement the procurement related strategies, endorse professional procurement involvement and standard practices.
  • Have a keen insight and understanding of the business services roadmap of upcoming demands and requirements.
  • Leading or supporting, as necessary, all RFx, sourcing process, negotiation and contracting activities.
  • Managing the purchase order process by ensuring exemplary control and compliance to contract.
  • Identifying and driving continuous improvement of processes.
  • Delivering on targets (savings, cash flow, cost reduction depending on business focus) to drive improvements in operating margin and deliver the business' strategic priorities.
  • Ensuring effective supplier relationship management and governance with supporting KPI's.
  • Undertaking market analysis to identify new opportunities to drive value.
  • Production/automation of standard and bespoke reporting for stakeholders.
  • Developing a working understanding of applicable regulation pertaining to third parties/ vendors/ outsourcing i.e., OSFI and implement any necessary controls to ensure compliance.

Required Knowledge And Experiences

  • 5 years' experience as a procurement professional.
  • Experience in the Procurement of indirect spend categories.
  • Strong understanding of commercial contracts.
  • Microsoft office i.e., Outlook, word, excel and PowerPoint.
  • Procurement experience in Financial Services or a similar industry.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of P2P software i.e., Coupa, an asset.

The expected pay range for this position is $81,000 - $101,000 annually. The pay
information provided for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of expectedcompensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration ofmany factors such as (but not limited to) an individual's education, training, work experience, job related skill set, location, and industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of theposition and market considerations. In addition, variable compensation is based on applicable companyguidance and plan documents as well as performance.
