Job description

Job Title: Procurement Manager Location: Orangeburg NY Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 Work Model: Onsite Monday-Friday

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement activities related to the procurement of materials, parts, components, and equipment for production use.
  • Direct the activities of buyers and expediters to accomplish company objectives.
  • Ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and maintain inventory at desired levels.
  • Monitor supplier performance, review and approve purchases as authorized by management.
  • Maintain knowledge of suppliers and conduct audits.
  • Participate in the negotiation of major contracts involving large dollar amounts.
  • Develop and modify policies and procedures for procurement activities.
  • Monitor the cost, schedule, and performance aspects of suppliers.
  • Oversee change order executions and necessary dispositions.
  • Actively engage in purchasing activities with engineering and manufacturing departments to maintain inventories at planned levels.
  • Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient operation of the procurement function.
  • Assess suppliers and ensure compliance and stability through on-site visits as needed.
  • Measure success by supplier quality performance, on-time delivery, and efficient change order management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or MBA with minimum 7 years of materials management experience, or equivalent.
  • APICS certification preferred.
  • At least 4+ years of managerial experience with direct reports.
  • Ability to support and develop team career goals.
  • Experience developing systems and processes to optimize procurement performance.
  • Proficiency in planning and implementing procurement strategies.
  • Knowledge of supplier audits, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Familiarity with FDA regulatory requirements is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
