Job description

Procurement Manager
The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading a team of replenishment buyers that manage DC inventory to the optimum service levels. This role serves as the lead trainer and manager of the replenishment team who are responsible for managing the purchasing and deployment of all products, both domestic and imported. This position is accountable for ideal inventory levels in all warehouses. This role works cross functionally with Category Management, Marketing, Sales and Operations to improve overall performance.
Job Responsibilities
  • Directs and coordinates the day-to-day activities of the replenishment buying team to achieve P.O. (purchase order) accuracy, accurate days on hand (DOH), minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Serves as subject matter expert for assigned product categories. Works with Category Management team to maximize growth and profit opportunities tied to Replenishment.
  • Monitors and reviews KPI performance vs. goals (including min/max metrics); provide buyer direction and take corrective action to ensure performance targets are met, maximizing performance.
  • Contributes to the creation and modification of processes and procedures relating to activities of inventory management, out of stocks, cost accuracy, forecast accuracy etc.
  • Provide feedback to replenishment team on strengths and areas of opportunity in relation to performance and growth opportunities.
  • Monitor and audit the work of direct reports.
  • Responsible for continuous enhancements to improve.
  • Leverage demand planning, ERP, and forecasting tools to analyze trends, gaps, and opportunities.
  • Spearhead analysis and reporting for the Department to address opportunities such as: inventory inefficiencies; out of stock investigation; incorrect forecasting; improper system settings, etc.
  • Serve as a key liaison between Procurement, Sales, Finance, and Operations.
  • Lead or participate in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning).
  • Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on risks, opportunities, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Must be result driven, adaptable, detail oriented and organized.
  • Ability to make sound decisions with limited Managerial direction, takes accountability for decisions, actions and results.
  • Must exhibit strong problem solving/decision making and managerial skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to analyze data, identify root causes, trends, opportunities and concerns.
  • Experience in Demand Planning software
  • Exhibits excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as relationship management.
  • Bachelors Degree, or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum 5 years replenishment experience. Minimum 3 years prior management experience required. Prior food/grocery experience preferred.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office - especially Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as Microsoft Outlook. Must be extremely organized, analytical and possess highly developed written/oral communication, management, training and interpersonal skills.
