LyondellBasell's Global Turnaround Procurement function facilitates supply solutions globally for the company.  We manage supplier relationships to provide value to our stakeholders in the acquisition of materials, services, and integrated business solutions.

This position will be located at Houston Engineering Center (HEC) and will require some regular travel to other North America locations that have planned Turnaround activity.  The position offers a competitive base salary, bonus, 401K matching, generous benefits package, pension plan and employee discounts.

  • Lead the TA Procurement organization ensuring proper operational procurement support for the execution of turnarounds (TA's) in the US and the EU.
  • Ensures the TA Procurement organization aligns all activities with the Global TA Excellence Model.
  • Develop the right skillset and knowledge of TA Buyers to engage proactively with the right stakeholders for proper planning and timely execution of the procurement process including  expediting to ensure on-time deliveries meeting the required quality levels and at the highest possible value for LYB.
  • Represent procurement in the Turnaround (TA) Global Leadership as the focal point for procurement in the US.
  • Partner with Global Turnaround leadership to drive continuous improvement and alignment leveraging the Turnaround Procurement Council (TPC) governance.
A Day in the Life
  • Secure on-time delivery of materials and services with proper planning according to LYB's TA Excellence Model and ensure adherence to LYB DOA Policy.
  • Supports and contributes to the development and drives the implementation of sourcing strategies for technical services & materials for Turnarounds in the US.
  • Drives/supports TA cost team with purchase-to-pay process performance improvements to close turnaround projects timely. 
  • Maximize Managed spend and ensure that spend not covered by strategy is well managed, via market analysis, RFP/RFQ, supplier negotiation and other activities.
  • Capable of balancing cost saving opportunities with risk mitigation.
  • Manage Buyers to ensure all TAEM and Archer milestones are completed per the excellence model for all US turnarounds.
  • Manages and develops team to become "best in class" to provide timely acquisition of technical services and materials related to all TA planning and execution at lowest total cost of ownership within specified time frame.
  • Coaches, develops, and motivates TA team through formal and informal processes including dialogs, skill gap analysis, training  and coaching.
  • Implement and maintain metrics that clearly indicate the performance level of departmental and supplier effectiveness.
  • Accountable for contracts in area of responsibility including sourcing plans, strategy implementation, and change management. 
  • Maintains focus on value-added activities and is able to identify and implement alternate, innovative, and creative solutions to drive the lowest total cost of ownership. 
  • Develops strong working relationship with Category Management team to influence in the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
  • Accountable for TA contracts, sourcing plans, strategy/contract implementation, and associated metrics for TA spend not covered by the strategy.
  • Accountable for meeting Global TA Excellence Model milestones from T-36 to T-15 for TA's across multiple sites, including, but not limited to major contractor strategy endorsement, and development of TA procurement matrices.
  • Conducts/attends TA-specific meetings at multiple sites, including, but not limited to TA Management Team meetings, TA Core Team meetings, Peer Reviews, Executive SRM, TA Boardwalks, etc.
You Bring This Value
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years experience in turnaround procurement within the petrochemical industry.
  • 10+ years of chemical or related industry experience and knowledge related to procurement.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
