Job description


This position will directly be responsible for a sourcing process for a specific category for the West Region (excludes Southern Nevada) in support of the Company's strategic sourcing and procurement strategy. The position will report to their corresponding Regional Director (or Manager); be domiciled at the corresponding Regional Buying Center or mutually approved location within the regional footprint.
The successful candidate will be an integral member of a cross-functional purchasing team and the primary procurement partner with Property Stakeholders across the region, as well as interface with the vendor community, and Caesars centralized corporate Strategic Sourcing teams. This position will also be responsible for certain additional duties as needed per their Region's specific requirements.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for purchasing & fulfillment, including processing purchase orders and setting up regional bids as set forth by category strategies to create the most advantageous financial and operational impacts for the property, region, and company as a whole
• Responsible for communicating with central Sourcing Category owners to fully understand their set strategies and to execute responsibilities accordingly.
• Responsible for sourcing, investigating, assisting with selection and managing of vendors through the evaluation of existing suppliers and the development of new suppliers. Maintain positive company image and supplier relations through timely supplier contact and through ensuring that vendors consistently perform at a level exceeding the properties requirements.
• Personally abides by and enforces ethical practices in all dealings with vendors through ensuring all vendor relations are devoid of any business practices which could be deemed as questionable business conduct.
• Able to develop and analyze price and supply data, and use findings from such analysis to inform best practices and buying decisions
• Maintains consistent and accurate purchase and price data within any purchasing system used by the company, primarily Stratton Warren & Oracle
• Use provided purchasing systems, processes, and tools to prepares bid lists, evaluates bids, documents competitive bidding practices, processes requisitions, places purchase orders as appropriate and, in conjunction with properties AP department processes on-line pricing variances to conclusion
• Follow up on back orders; expedite with company any special arrangements for delivery; communicate to department the expected delivery date.
• Be familiar or quickly become familiar with all local, state, regional, and national regulations relevant to their region, particularly those set forth by the Gaming Commission and obtain licensing where required
• Synthesize personal experience on the job and other inputs such as stakeholder feedback, and make recommendations on improvements to existing Sourcing Strategies to the central team Category Owners or Regional Leads
• Meet or exceed personal and role expectations by understanding and utilizing KPIs guiding job performance (including but not limited to examples such as maintaining a high level of fill-rate ratios, or limiting order delays by coordinating scheduled deliveries of products and services)
• Keep impacted stakeholders and Sourcing team members advised of potential business or safety risks, including by not limited to examples such as lead-times on critical material or products
• As required by established process and system (including Stratton Warren), troubleshoot and reconcile invoices with accounts payable where price or terms do not agree with the purchase order
• Seek out and develop relationships with suppliers that will help meet diversity requirements, including but not limited to women (WBE), disadvantaged (DBE) and minority (MBE) suppliers to establish mutually beneficial business dealings and assist in the achievement of set aside goals
• Perform other related duties as assigned by Regional Director (or Manager)
Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience in related procurement roles preferred
• Strong background and knowledge of certain relevant Sourcing categories and/or commodities (such as food and beverage products for example) and standard purchasing procedures and practices preferred
• Thorough understanding of purchasing, supply chain and line of supply procedures and practices preferred
• Working knowledge of and facility with purchasing and inventory systems (including Stratton Warren)
• Be proficient with widely used business software & communication tools, including the Microsoft office suite (especially Excel, Outlook, and Word)

Ability to communicate one-on-one and to groups to explain policies and procedures, and to persuade others to accept or adopt a specific opinion or action.

Possess strong leadership, managerial, administrative and organizational skills with the ability to present excellent customer service, partnering/team-building (lateral, report, support), and communication skills. Must be a solution-oriented problem solver and possess the ability to multi-task while championing and leading change management initiatives for product and service within the region and properties personnel.
