This role is responsible for performing a range of assigned duties to control, monitor, and operate process equipment to produce finished products. The position supports production operations, assists with training new operators, and may provide coverage for the Lead Technician as needed.
The purpose of this position is to oversee the safe, compliant, and timely operation of production plants to ensure customer demand is met, product specifications are achieved, and all applicable regulations are followed.
  • Complete training requirements as outlined in the progression plan and participate in training on new processes and tasks as required.
  • Operate plant equipment to meet productivity targets and perform chemical charges safely in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor processes and adjust control parameters using designated control systems.
  • Maintain process control to achieve First Pass Quality standards.
  • Conduct thorough shift turnovers and ensure all required documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date.
  • Maintain and replenish supplies and raw materials as needed within the assigned process area.
  • Perform physical job requirements, including lifting up to 55 pounds, extended walking, bending, frequent stair climbing, operating a forklift, and using cleaning equipment.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards within the work area.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision to achieve daily objectives.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn additional processes while maintaining responsibilities of the current role.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required. Proficient in math, written and spoken English
  • Technical training preferred

Experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in manufacturing, handling chemicals preferred.
  • Ability to interface with computer operated systems and programs

Physical Demands
  • Lift up to 50 pounds approximately 15%-40% of the time
  • Ability to climb stairs and/or ladders an average of 35 times per shift
  • Ability to pass a pulmonary function test to wear a respirator (clean shaven)
  • Able to work 3 on 3 off rotating (days/nights) 12-hour shifts.

Working Conditions
  • Exposure to noise, dust, wet floors, seasonal heat and cold, hazardous chemicals, and chemical odors
  • Required use of personal protective equipment, including a negative-pressure respirator, safety shoes, hard hat, and safety glasses

Special Skills and Training
  • Forklift and hoist operation, including equipment inspection and cleaning
  • Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and/or waste
  • Required training, in compliance with federal regulations for hazardous waste exposure and handling, will be completed within six months of hire

The expected compensation range for this position is between $47,950.00 and $70,323.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
