Job Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for accurately preparing, packaging, and processing outbound shipments and inbound materials to ensure efficient warehouse operations. This role handles daily tasks such as scanning products into the system, processing pallets and boxes, weighing and labeling items, and assembling shipments according to company standards. The associate will help break down inbound pallets, verify counts, and update the system to resolve discrepancies. They will also wrap pallets, apply proper labels and corner boards, and move finished goods to the correct dock doors.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Process shipments via UPS and FedEx and loading products into trailer
  • Process pallets systemically through LIDS, scanning products into system
  • Weight, measure, and label products
  • Processing boxes systematically through pack size and physically assemble
  • Package products, labeling and taping boxes
  • Breakdown inbound pallets and systemic processing of receipts
  • Review quantity discrepancies and update system as needed
  • Wrap pallets utilizing wrap machine
  • Ensure labels left by distribution attendants are assigned to correct pallet
  • Put corner boards on product when appropriate
  • Move product to dock door when appropriate
  • Hit hour by hour productivity goal; follow and maintain hur by hour board
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring 5S is followed

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Ability to follow all Safety, Health and Environmental guidelines, policies, rules and training
  • Basic math/reading comprehension aptitude
  • The ability to read and interpret a manifest, packing list and complex shipping codes
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment

The compensation is $19.11. Acuity offers generous benefits including health care, dental coverage, vision plans, 401K benefits, and commissions/incentive compensation depending on the role.
