Job description

The Word Processor III edits minutes documentation for meetings of standing groups in the Range Commanders Council (RCC). Compile files received from group secretaries into document packages consistent with the RCC’s publication style manual. Communicate with group secretaries to resolve questions and to prompt when group minutes materials are overdue to the Secretariat office. Convert Word, PowerPoint, and other types of files into one PDF package with a table of contents, attendee list, minutes, and appendixes. Format tables, figures, charts, and graphs to specific requirements. Act as librarian to track, catalog, and file detailed documents, to maintain the comprehensive electronic database, completing various assignments independently and without supervision. Work without management oversight. Exercise discretion and independent judgment to accomplish goals set forth by mission objectives, policies and training procedures while adhering to strict security classification requirements. Help prepare materials that are used at meetings of the RCC and its Executive Committee, which are attended by generals, admirals, senior DoD personnel, Congressional staffers, and more.

Pay Rate:  $21.44/hour
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Associate’s degree or high school diploma plus 3-4 years pertinent experience
* Organized
* Experience with Microsoft Office – Word (creating and using format styles), Outlook, MS Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access detail oriented
* Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro
* Ability to work within strict deadlines
* Exercise discretion
* Knowledge of government format and standards (Templates and Styles)
* Proficient in the use of written and spoken English language (reading, grammar, punctuation, verb tense, etc.

* Must be able to work both as part of a team and independently
* Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
* Proficiency with computer
* Comfortable with and able to communicate effectively
* Possess the ability to complete and deliver required work, with minimal supervision in a timely manner

* This job operates in a professional office environment
