Job description

Job Summary:
This person will provide technical expertise and travel to global manufacturing plants. Assisting with the procurement and technical verification of molds and processes, establish the process parameters through Scientific molding practices, and completing and optimizing all qualification work before releasing the molds into production.
Knowledge | Experience | Skills:
Degree in Plastics Engineering/Technology, or High school diploma/ GED, with experience in scientific molding principles. Master Molder I / II preferred, Ten plus years 'experience in Injection Molding, with Solid knowledge of Injection Molding and manufacturing operations. Good communication and Interpersonal Skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Excel.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Support and assist globally with mold design and qualification of new molds
• Support the molding process decisions for new global programs and current manufacturing lines
• Travel to tool builders to qualify and debug tools and sign off for production readiness
• Establish the process parameters for new programs and ensure the completion of the Scientific Injection molding documentation. Write SIM study reports.
• Insure completion of D.O.E on all new molds as necessary with the Global Operations Team.
• Assist manufacturing personnel with continuous improvement process when needed.
• Ensures high level of quality within the group activities
• Assist projects by setting timelines/ process milestones and insuring those time lines are met.
• Support process development by utilizing all available resources and adjusting schedules as needed.
• Support project/process feasibility before beginning projects.
• Assist in the process engineering initiatives and process optimizations with other internal groups.
• Integrate process engineering lessons learned into new Mold designs
• Be able to communicate and train the Manufacturing Engineers on processes for a clean hand off of the project.
• Conduct or organize RJG training for all sites in combination with our strategy to develop our technical work force.
• Harmonize process engineering documentation.
