  • Description
    • The Medical Assistant position consists of Mental Health and Substance Abuse patient screening in an ED setting. It also involves the referral process for these screenings based on the outcome. The MA serves as an essential link between patients and all other care providers. Provides individual assistance to patients, families, and caregivers to help overcome healthcare system barriers and help facilitate timely access to quality health and psychosocial care from diagnosis through all phases. Acts as lead over clerical staff in their daily functions and data collections, staffing, and provides coverage.

      Essential Functions

      Understand and comply with the laws and regulations governing my job activities and the ethical and legal standards set forth in the Nor-Lea Compliance Program Plan and Code of Conduct.
      Will be responsible for SBIRT and MCO care coordination process in emergency department setting, including any reporting and EPIC documentation.
      Will work closely with Emergency Department staff and Behavioral Health clinic for referral process.
      Assist registration staff if needed
      Participate in Paramedicine enrollment process along with Emergency Department clinical staff
      Assist with department projects and improve patient experience.
